The woman behind the brand, Rikke Mai, is married to the former professional footballer Allan Nielsen. She took her departure at the Danish Design School in 1996. Already in 1995 she established her first brand Rex Wear, which was later called Signature, and in 2003 she founded Stories by RikkeMai. Stories by RikkeMai received the adknowledged fashion price ”Guldknappen” in 2008 which is given by the Danish fashion magazine Alt for Damerne. Rikke May grew up with a mother who made patchwork and clothing to her children and a father who linked her own blankets, which is clearly reflected in her style that is individual and varied with patchwork and unique details. Best known is probably her beautiful unique scarves which are made of Asian pleated suits and can be bought here at www.kidsofluxury.com Crown Princess Mary is a fan of Rikke Mai designs, and turned up during the Olympic Games in Beijing in an adventurous dress from the brand. Stories by RikkeMai is only available in Denmark for the time being.
